About WY Yards & Gardens

The WY Yards & Gardens team is lead by owner Jo Wyld who came to Victoria from the East Kootenays in 1989 looking for a job in the electronics field.  After a number of years working with moisture sensors, growing tomatoes on her balcony and tropical plants in her living room, Jo decided that gardening was how she wanted to earn her living. She started WY after graduating top of her class from the Horticulture Centre of the Pacific in 2005.  A die-hard plant nerd, Jo is deeply connected to the gardening community through a number of organizations including the Victoria Horticulture Society, the Victoria Hardies group and Glendale Gardens. Jo is also a long-time member and director of James Bay Athletic Association where she played and coached rugby. Jo’s mixed-breed dog, Keela, is WY’s official truck guard.
